My California Licescing Exam is on Thursday....so close!!!! I cannot wait till im done.  I have another test on Feb 29th, but it is not as major as this one.  I AM ALMOST DONE WITH ALL THESE TESTS!!  Then I will officially apply for my licesnce and I can start working as an acupuncturist.  But before that I will go to Mexico for a week.  Give me sun, seafood and tequila and I will be living on cloud 9!!

This is my favorite beach when I go to Puerto Vallarta.  Its about an hour north of the city.  Its amazing.  Basically it is always empty.  It is large, great waves and great palapa's with great fresh seafood. ahhh i can't wait!!

Happy New Year!

So I am almost a week late, but Happy New Year!  The Chinese new Year is here and bringing in the year the Water Dragon.

I was reading an article about the water dragon and this is what it said "Dragon years are connected to new beginnings, starting a business and finding happiness and good fortune. What do you want to start this year? What one or two things can you focus on that once achieved could change your destiny? What one practice would you train and master if you knew that you could not fail?"

This is just so fitting for me, as I am about to head out to Durham to start my life as an acupuncturist!  Reading this makes me feel more confident that I will succeed!

You Have a Choice!

Healing with foods is just as important if not more than the medications and vitamins that we take to try and stay healthy.  Foods, plants, flowers, etc are all what medicine is based off of anyways.  So why not make the choice, cut out the middle man, and eat whole foods.  I just watched this amazing women talk about her switch to the "paleo diet" to help combat her MS.  It did wonders for her.  She is now living instead of deteriorating.  She made the choice, can you?

But How Does it Work: Acupucnture

We all know that acupucnture works, but how is a different.  We all took a class in acu school called the biomedicine of acupucnture.  We learned that most acupucnture points are at areas where nerves come together.  Now these points are where the "c fibers" come together.  What is a C fiber?

Acupuncture Benefiting Cancer Patients

Cancer is a serious and painful disease.  What the patient has to go through to get healed in our western medical system is harsh and not many options for them.  Due to all the drugs these patients have to put into their bodies, the side effects can be harsh and debilitating on the body. 

Since being in acupuncture school for the past four years, I have seen how acupucnture can benefit so many people out in our world, especially cancer pateints.  In our western world most people know acupucnture is great for pain relief, for a frozen shoulder, sciatica pain, etc.  So when it comes to cancer patients, we are not legally allowed to treat the cancer, but we can treat the symptoms that they undergo, especially cancer pain.  New research how come out declaring just this fact.  Please read.
